Cute Boy Outfit Series – Spring 2020

Silly brothers stick out their tongues while wearing bright button down shirts from The Children's Place.

I love putting the boys in matching clothes, but it can be so difficult finding cute outfits in both of their sizes!  It’s starting to get a little easier now that Gage is hitting the 18m mark, but he’s not quite in the “toddler” size for many brands yet.  And as we await baby 3’s arrival, I’m sad to be starting over again with infant sizes 🤣

The Children’s Place has been a go to of mine since Gage was born.  Not only do they offer matching outfits in baby, toddler and youth – they even group them together where you can see only items available in all 3 sizes.  They even have a coordinating section for girls and boys.  This is really helpful for a mom short on time just trying to grab some cute clothes really quickly!  I will say that it’s much easier to shop their selection online than in store if you’re trying to match/coordinate.  I don’t really shop in store very much anymore, period (ya know, because two kids), but this is definitely one retailer where it’s much easier to search online either way IMO.  They offer free shipping and in-store returns.  I will say that their return policy isn’t overly generous at only 45 days, but at least you can bring it back to the store to avoid paying return shipping.

I bought these super cute spring/summer outfits just before the start of the COVID crisis.  We haven’t gotten to wear them as much as I’d hoped, but we at least got to take some super cute front porch pictures in them.

The colors are so bright and happy – my absolute favorite for spring and summer!  I also love that the tops and bottoms can be mixed and matched.  This provides so many more outfit opportunities and allows you to change up the kids’ looks without buying more clothes.  It also makes packing for family vacations a lot easier because you don’t have to bring as much to get a wide variety of outfits.  And obviously they look good with different hair colors since you can see that our two boys look nothing alike 😂

These outfits are great for either dressier events or more casual events.  I just love button down untucked shirts.  It’s that perfect style of sophisticated casual!  That’s a thing for toddlers, right?!?  They would be perfect for family photos, too!  In fact, we’ve used other Children’s Place shirts for just that.  These particular shirts have great color patterns in them so it gives mom and dad plenty of options to choose from 😁

The quality of these clothes, especially for the price, is excellent.  We have some items from last year that still fit the boys, and they are surprisingly in good shape.  The Children’s Place also has sales frequently, so I definitely recommend you wait for one of those.  The sizing can be a little generous, so if you’re between sizes, I’d recommend sizing down.  I also love that because the pricing is so reasonable, I don’t have to stress about the boys staining them.  We try to keep all of their clothes nice, but at the end of the day, they’re boys and they are going to find every pile of dirt they can.  So this is a great way to have them still look nice but not need to stress about them acting like the toddler boys they are! 😉

welcome!

and this is where it all began

As a wife, mom, and business owner, I started this blog as a passion project to share all the things I’ve learned throughout my journey.

To say it’s been a crazy ride would be the understatement of the century, but we have loved sharing our adventures every step of the way.

That’s why I always come back to where it started – this very blog – to continue sharing my tips, tricks, triumphs, and tribulations about all things motherhood, money, business, traveling, and everything in between.

I hope that by sharing these authentic, unfiltered experiences, you can feel seen and heard and learn to embrace the wonder in this messy (but oh, so wonderful) life.
