Pretty Spring Dresses!

There’s just something about Spring and Summer time that I love!  Maybe it’s the end of tax season, the warmer weather, or more special events start popping up … either way, I love a good excuse to put on a new dress, some makeup and get out there to have some fun.

We all have dresses in our closets that are staples and can be a fallback to wear, but I thrive on searching for something new to wear and love!  My most important qualities in a dress are comfort, great fit, versatility, and price.  I’m petite (5’1), so length and fit are always the hardest for me.  I really wish I could learn how to sew well to be able to make minor alterations here and there.

These are 3 awesome finds from Nordstrom that all fit the bill and can be used for multiple types of events – dressed up or down.  All of these are non-maternity even though I’m sporting a 22 week {third child} bump here.  I dressed them all up with heels this time, but all of them would look great with wedges or flats as well.  They work for both daytime and nighttime events – gotta love a multipurpose colorful dress at a good price point!

This high/low maxi dress was love at first sight! It’s the perfect length and is petite-friendly with heels – not something I can say often. The material is comfortable and breathable, and the fit was spot on (TTS) – even pregnant – and actually accentuated the bump in the best way. I did find the bust area to be a little hard to keep flat at the top, but nothing a little sticky tape can’t fix Haha. The colors are super vibrant and just so fun and fresh for spring/summer. This spring dress would be great for weddings, showers, date night, you name it – it’ll work!

This precious shift dress is a dream! Comfortable material with a true to size looser fit. The green color is so striking, especially once you have a little bit of that summer tan (or bronzer) going and will seriously look good on just about any complexion and hair color. This one could be more easily dressed down than the other two simply for the fact that it’s short. This also makes wearing it with flats much easier for us shorter gals. The ruffles are the perfect touch to keep it from feeling like any other plain shift dress. I left off the necklace when styling it because I really wanted to let the ruffles standout in the most perfect feminine way 🙂 You almost can’t see the bump if I’m not holding it LOL

The halter maxi dress runs pretty TTS. I sized up to accommodate the belly because the banded midsection was too tight otherwise. I found the chest area to be generous, and I felt like I had to tie the straps fairly tight. Soft, breathable fabric for the summer heat! The colors are so beautiful and eye-catching for spring. It’s also available in a pretty yellow if that’s more your jam than pink. I’m not usually a huge lover of pink, but this one really appealed to me! If you’re on the taller side, you could wear this with flats. I’d have to hem it if I wanted to do so, but I’m keeping it for more dressy functions and I’m used to wearing at least a wedge most of the time to help me come closer to 5’3 or 5’4 haha

and this is where it all began

As a wife, mom, and business owner, I started this blog as a passion project to share all the things I’ve learned throughout my journey.

To say it’s been a crazy ride would be the understatement of the century, but we have loved sharing our adventures every step of the way.

That’s why I always come back to where it started – this very blog – to continue sharing my tips, tricks, triumphs, and tribulations about all things motherhood, money, business, traveling, and everything in between.

I hope that by sharing these authentic, unfiltered experiences, you can feel seen and heard and learn to embrace the wonder in this messy (but oh, so wonderful) life.
