9 Books Every Business Owning Mom Should Read

These are some of the books that have guided me, inspired me and helped many of my clients as well. They are listed in no particular order – honestly just the order in which I thought of them – and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using Audible. I mean, we are all busy moms here and reading a book nowadays is like taking a luxury vacation to Hawaii by yourself.

12 Week Year – Brian P. Moran

This book changed the way I planned. It’s no secret that we have way less time as moms to focus on ourselves or our businesses if we choose to be involved in our kids lives. And it’s totally okay if you would rather be more focused on your biz than kids; but for me, the main reason I have my own business is to be there for my kids. That means I need to be laser-focused in my business and what my professional goals are.

Everything is Figureoutable – Marie Forleo

This is my personality type. I don’t know if I’ve ever come face-to-face with something that I couldn’t figure out. But I love her resilience and everything she talked about in this book. It’s a good kick in the a$$ when you need it – and we all have seasons where we need just that!

7 Habits of Highly Effective People – Stephen Covey

Oh gosh – where do I start with the takeaways from this book. It’s a little long and can seem a bit dry at times, but it’s worth it. One of my faves is the symbols I use for my handwritten task list.

We Should All Be Millionaires – Rachel Rodgers

This book completely changed my mindset around my worth, how I approached outsourcing and my time. Highly, highly recommend.

Boundary Boss – Terri Cole

I don’t know about you, but as a female (especially a mom), I am always working on my boundaries it seems. And not just work boundaries, but also personal boundaries, too! I think most moms can totally relate.

Atomic Habits – James Clear

Start small. That’s my takeaway from this book. I don’t know about you, but I constantly need that reminder. I’m sort of an “all or nothing” or “dive right in” kind of person. I read this annually to remind myself that small habits lead to big impact.

Dare to Lead – Brene Brown

It’s hard to put into words what this book brought into my life. I feel like it crossed the boundary between work and family and I was so deeply heard when she was writing this book. It’s great for both men & women, but especially moms.

The Big Leap – Gay Hendricks

This book was revolutionary in how I spent my time & energy in my business. Whenever you hear someone refer to your “zone of genius,” this is where it originated. Ever since reading this, I have been very aware of staying in my zone.

The 5AM Club – Robin Sharma

No – you do not need to get up at 5 am – let’s start with that! But this book really outlines the importance of a strong start to the morning. I think it’s a good one to read at the start of every school year IYKYK

welcome!

I'm Kimberly

and this is where it all began

As a wife, mom, and business owner, I started this blog as a passion project to share all the things I’ve learned throughout my journey.

To say it’s been a crazy ride would be the understatement of the century, but we have loved sharing our adventures every step of the way.

That’s why I always come back to where it started – this very blog – to continue sharing my tips, tricks, triumphs, and tribulations about all things motherhood, money, business, traveling, and everything in between.

I hope that by sharing these authentic, unfiltered experiences, you can feel seen and heard and learn to embrace the wonder in this messy (but oh, so wonderful) life.
