Do you have loved ones that live far away? Maybe even in this crazy time of the pandemic, your loved ones don’t live far away; but unfortunately, you won’t be spending Thanksgiving with them?
Are you a last minute-mom like me?!? Do you have not a single crafty bone in your body like me?!? 😂 Well, I got ya covered 😉
Here’s a great Thanksgiving activity that littles ones can do & I know grandparents, aunts/uncles, godparents etc will love! And when I say I’m not a “crafty” mom by any means, I really mean it. So I promise you – if I can do this, you can do this!
And I’ve even made a printable that you can download!! Take the guess work, extra time, extra effort & supplies out of the equation. Just print at home or send to your local print shop/Office Depot like I did… side note – so crazy how we don’t have a color printer anymore! There are two sheets included in the download – one has letters that your child can color or there’s one that’s filled in with color if they don’t want to or aren’t old enough yet. If you have a toddler, you know what I mean … Sometimes they’re more willing than others so here’s your backup plan 😉 No one wanted to color this day 🤦🏼♀️

Here’s the paint colors I used: berry cobbler, pure pumpkin & dark yellow – they were the perfect fall colors 😀 I grabbed some brushes from the boys’ art bin & we headed outside to rock this one out. I will admit the older boys were really good at this because they are used to having their feet painted for projects at school. They were actually excited to do it!! How often does that happen?
All together with allowing for paint dry time, this took us about an hour with all 3 boys. The paint dried much faster than I expected, to be honest!
Hunter just turned 4 & wears a size 9 shoe for reference. His foot didn’t fit on the page as well as I expected, so I would say this idea is optimal for kids 5 & under most likely 😀 But let’s be honest, grandparents DO NOT CARE about the quality of the footprint … if they’re anything like my parents, they will PROUDLY hang any single item that has their grandkids’ hand or footprint on it ❤️ And is there anything cuter than baby footprints??
You can finish your turkey off with some eyes & a beak or just leave it plain – no shame there. I used this sharpie I had lying around. You can also be “supermom” like me & go rip some googly eyes off your kids’ other art projects they’ve brought home and glue those on … knew saving those art projects would come in handy at some point 😉
All in all, this was a super easy project & we were able to make a few at a time to send to multiple grandparents, great-grandparents & other loved ones. Happy Thanksgiving y’all!!
